
At the age of 14, Isaiah Gaines embarked on his collegiate journey where he earned both an associate's and bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences by the age of 17. He then pursued dual graduate degrees, culminating in a Juris Doctor from the GSU College of Law and a Master's degree in Health Management & Policy from the GSU Graduate School of Public Health.
Throughout his tenure at Georgia State University, Gaines has distinguished himself as a multifaceted leader and scholar. Gaines has assumed pivotal roles in various student organizations, including serving as the Board Chair of Health Students Taking Action Together (HSTAT), where he spearheaded initiatives to promote health advocacy and community engagement.
His leadership extends to the Student Health Law Association (SHLA), where he served as President during his 3L year, advocating for legal reform and equitable healthcare access. Gaines also demonstrated his commitment to ethical governance as a Board Director of GSU's Student Ethics and Standards Board, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of integrity and accountability within the university community.
Notably, Gaines was selected to serve on GSU's 2022–2023 Student Strategic Plan Board Committee, where he contributed valuable insights and strategic direction to advance the university's mission and vision. His dedication to academic excellence was further underscored by his role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Biology 2107, where he mentored and inspired future generations of scholars.
