Audit Trails and Late Changes

Posted by Brian Cathey | May 17, 2022 | 0 Comments

In a recent medical malpractice case, JWC attorneys used the medical records audit trail to show that a medical provider changed our client's medical records after the client had died.  Despite the doctor's repeated claims that he had not made any late changes to the medical records, the audit trail told the truth.  In reality, the doctor made changes to the medical records on the very day JWC attorneys filed the lawsuit against the doctor, almost a year after our client had died.  Faced with this evidence, the doctor finally confessed to the changes during his second deposition.  Always fight to get the audit trail in a medical malpractice case.
